Moscow Stud Farm No. 1 Announces Orlov Trotter Show Jumping Events with a Prize Pool of RUB 100,000 for Each Competition

To support Orlov Trotter competitions outside hippodromes, Moscow Stud Farm No. 1 is conducting a unique experiment in partnership with the Rosplemkonzavod Association and Total Horse (Ramenskoye Hippodrome). The partners will set up several show jumping courses for Orlov Trotters as part of major upcoming tournaments: the Saturn Style Award route at the Ramenskoye Hippodrome Cup, to be held on 12 June 2021, and a route at the traditional Nikolay Shurygin Memorial Cup, held at Moscow Stud Farm No. 1 in September. Obstacles on the show jumping courses will be up to 100 cm high. The prize pool for each course will be RUB 100,000.

Moscow Stud Farm No. 1 Director Yury Prokhorov hopes the experiment will demonstrate the breed’s versatile nature and the vast possibilities for its use in popular equestrian sports. ‘Orlov Trotters are strong, hard-working, and good-natured, which makes them the right fit for youth and amateur equestrian sports’.
