Famous Australian Equestrian Athlete and Coach Gary Rollans Visits Moscow Stud Farm no. 1

Australian equestrian athlete and coach Gary Rollans visited Moscow Stud Farm No. 1 to see its Orlov Trotters. He has been interested in the breed for a long time and believes that it has great potential for traditional carriage driving and carriage equine tourism.

Rollans visited both Moscow Stud Farm No. 1 and the Moscow Hippodrome, where he saw Orlov Trotters and – we hope – chose a few horses for himself.

“Orlov Trotters are stylish and good-natured with a nice temperament. It was important to meet them myself and see whether they were like I had imagined. Their style, temperament and type make quite an impression. I believe that this type of horse would be perfect for many sport disciplines in Europe and globally. They have great potential,” Rollans said.

Rollans is an Australian athlete who started his career in dressage, but later found his passion in competitive horse driving. He has represented Australia in various international carriage driving competitions, including two world cups.

Rollans holds multiple driving prizes and honorary titles. Now his focus has shifted to traditional carriage driving and equestrian tourism. He owns Studniska Horse Centrum in Poland, which is located in a historical castle and offers its guests accommodations, horseback riding and archery lessons, and carriage tours. The Rollans family owns stables and provides horse-training services.

We would like to thank the National Breeders Association and the owners of Orlov Trotters for their help in organising this visit.
