Orlov Mare from Moscow Stud Farm No. 1 Takes First Prize in Victor Grits Memorial Race at Central Moscow Hippodrome

On 12 June 2022, the Central Moscow Hippodrome hosted races for traditional annual prizes. The crowd’s attention was mainly focused on the Victor Grits Memorial prize in the 2,400-metre race for four‑year‑old Orlov mares.

Kalligrafia, the favourite among the seven horses in the race, was born and raised at Moscow Stud Farm No. 1. Despite a serious setback at the beginning of the race, Kalligrafia once again proved that she is the best four-year-old Orlov mare in Russia, winning decisively with a score of 3:14.7. The prize record (3:11.1) was set in 2014 by Belizna, also from Moscow Stud Farm No. 1.
