Stallion Khrap Absolute Champion of Russia among Sport Horses

On August 21-24, the New Century Equestrian Club hosted the third annual finals in the Korung for Russian sport horses. Forty-seven horses that received 8 points or more following the regional contests were invited to the event, which lasted four days.

The Trakehner Stallion Khrap (Prikup-Khorugv, Moscow Stud Farm No.1) won the title of Absolute Champion of Russia. The Hanoverian Erida won Best Mare of the Year.

Established by Order 192 of the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation on June 30, 2006, the Korung for sport horses is held annually following the results of regional contests to find the best sport horses. Highly qualified experts from around the world take part in this unique event. This year's judges hailed from Russia, Germany, Poland and Estonia.

The Korung organisers included the RF Ministry of Agriculture, the All-Russia Horse Breeding Research Institute, the Trakehner Horse Breeding Association, the Branch Union of Sport Horse Breeding Non-profit Partnership, the Moscow Region Federation of Equestrian Sports, and the New Century Equestrian Club Non-profit Partnership.
