Stallion Kair Wins Paris Prize at the Central Moscow Hippodrome

Last weekend the Central Moscow Hippodrome hosted the Days of France, an event that has already become a tradition in Russia, as part of an international French-Russian programme aimed at preserving and developing national horse breeds.

On June 1 the best Orlov Trotter three- and four-year-olds and up competed for the France Prize, the Paris Prize and the French Trotter Association Prize. Visitors to the Central Moscow Hippodrome also got to see one stage of the Russian Troika Championship.

In the Paris Prize competitions, the stallion Kair (Kovboy-Kapriznaya), foaled in 2005 and raised at Moscow Stud Farm No. 1, won with a score of 2.07.6 (driven by world-class jockey Mikhail Kozlov). The stallion Krasnotal (Kovboy-Krasota), foaled at Moscow Stud Farm No. 1, came in third.

The Moscow Stud Farm troika with Kanyuk as centre horse, driven by jockey Leonid Smagliy, came in first in figure and prize riding to win the Prix St. Georges in the summer stage of the Russian Troika Championship. Another troika from Moscow Stud Farm No. 1 (centre horse – Berkut, jockey – Alexander Pankov) came in second in the Prix St. Georges competitions.
