MOSCOW STUD FARM NO. 1 AUCTION RESULTS

Auctions have been a long-time tradition at Moscow Stud Farm No. 1. At first, they were held twice a year and offered adult horses in spring and Orlov Trotter yearlings in autumn. Since trotters have been best-sellers, the autumn auction is now a flagship event. At our international auctions, horses were sold to Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, and the United States. The Stud Farm’s director Yury Prokhorov has been an irreplaceable host of the event.

The breed portfolio has changed over the years. If initially the Stud Farm sold Orlov and Russian Trotters, Trakehners and Hanoverians, now it is only Orlov Trotters. Outstanding horses, including Belizna (Bars Prize winner and Russia’s record-setter), Finist, Floristka, Gilza, and Kalligrafia, were presented at our auctions.

On 1 October 2022, the 19th Annual Orlov Trotter Auction brought together buyers from across the country, including Moscow and Moscow region, Bashkortostan, Omsk region, Tula region, Nizhny Novgorod region, and Altai Krai. Their unflagging interest proves the auction’s long record of success. This year, 23 out of 39 horses offered for sale were sold for over RUB7 million.
